HOME & AWAY - 10th January 2012

19 year self-taught sonic talent, Gabrielle Alpin has been tipped as ‘the’ next big thing for 2012 that Ed Sheeran’s lyric, "They say I'm up-and-coming like I'm in an elevator" rings true for her too! Listen to any of her vocals on YouTube (6 million people have already) and you’ll see why such praise is richly and honestly deserved. There's no over-production here my friends, just pure vocal capability combined with natural and inherent song writing talent.

Hazel joined Gabrielle in Dalston whilst she performed the title track from her EP ‘Home’ (wearing Rag & Bow) for The Mahogany Blog. The EP was released on Monday (available on iTunes) and is already number 13 in its uk album chart. Check out her performance as we really don’t need to say anything more….

Oh...although we obviously love the vintage family photograph on the EP's cover, she’s touring the UK in March and check out her video for 'Home'...OK finished!

PRETTY POLY - 6th January 2012

Model…that word conjuers up a host of imagery but thanks to her avalanche of advertising campaigns, editorials and catwalks shows, Russian model Natasha Poly can put ‘super’ in front of it. As predicted she will be all over the bulging pages of this seasons major fashion magazines appearing in a myriad of campaigns. We are particularly finding this combination of Poly, mid-century chairs, Proneza Schouler’s spring collection and famed photographer Willy Vanderperr an aesthetically tantalising mix.

She also stars in one of the most retrospectively evovocative campaigns of the season by Prada. Shot by Steven Meisel it also features Kati Nescher, Meghan Collison, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema and Kathryn Kruger...phew!

Oh Poly what a wonderful world you live in!

NEW SEASON COMETH - 1st January 2012

Happy New Year and all that shaz, we are happy to finally be in 2012 as it's bringing lots of exciting news and new collaborations! Today we purely want to be inspired as we ease ourselves back into work mode. This 1896 footage featuring American choreographer and dancer Loie Fuller does the trick. Fuller developed her own natural and improvisation dance technique, illuminating her pieces in multi-coloured lights she also designed. This footage uses a colour palette mirroring the candy colour explosion coming to Spring/Summer 2012, roll on the new season!
